The TOPSoccer Division of Benicia Youth Soccer League is designed for children with special needs. Any child that faces mental or physical challenges that would keep them from participating in a typical sports program, ages 5 through 18 (or still attending school) is eligible.
TOPSoccer teams may include those who have:
•Impaired vision, hearing or mobility
•Autism, Down syndrome, mental retardation or developmental delays
•Cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy or other physical handicaps
•Attention Deficit Disorder or related attention / focus challenges
BYSL offers this program free of charge. Teams meet once a week on Saturdays to play. The length of game, style of play and game rules are tailored to the players.

Buddy Program
The division is looking for players from the U14 house divisions who would like to assist the coaches during games. Assistants will have a training session and be asked to help on 3 to 5 Saturdays out of the season. Depending on the assistant's game schedule, they are only scheduled on Saturdays where it does not conflict with their own games. Assistants are used on the field to demonstrate, lead, encourage and assist the players.
